NYC Parks is the steward of more than 30000 acres of land 14 percent of New York City including more than 5000 individual properties ranging from Coney Island Beach and Central Park to community gardens and Greenstreets. We operate more than 800 athletic fields and nearly 1000 playgrounds 1800 basketball courts 550 tennis courts 65 public pools 51 recreational facilities 15 nature centers 14 golf courses and 14 miles of beaches. We care for 1200 monuments and 23 historic house museums. We look after 660000 street trees and five million more in parks. Major Responsibilities
-Under supervision with latitude for independent judgment perform moderately difficult and responsible clerical work.
-Perform data entry into computer programs ensuring that all data is entered accurately and information is organized and easily retrievable.
-Provide general office support. Prepare reports log correspondence verify information and track phone calls. Process and route correspondence to the appropriate staff.
-Maintain accurate and current filing system.
-Prepare various reports and briefings using data and information supplied by managers and supervisors.
-Track distribute compose and edit correspondence to constituents and other agencies to meet Agency deadlines.
-Perform clerical work in relation to records files invoices and reports.
-Identify and communicate emerging issues to supervisor.
