Job Summary

ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM TEACHER / DISTRICT TTOC

Primarily at Daa x iigan S k adaa Née K-12 School

An employment opportunity exists for a TEMPORARY Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Elementary Classroom Teacher effective as soon as possible to the full return of the incumbent or no later than June 26 2026 at Daaxiigan Skadaa Née K-12 School. If the incumbent is to return this temporary appointment will continue as a District TTOC until June 26 2026.

Requirements:

A university teaching major or its equivalent directly related to the teaching position;
Understanding and being committed to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation commission including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
High level of skills related to successful classroom management and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;
Experience with multi-grade classes an asset;
Demonstrated ability to plan organize instruct and evaluate learning activities for students strengths and for their academic social emotional and behavioural needs;
Assume responsibility for the development and execution of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans;
Knowledge of school-based teams;
Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where students are connected supported engaged and challenged;
Proven interpersonal skills work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students teachers education assistants parents and administrators;

Understanding of local resources and environment;
Teacher Regulation Branch certification.

Competitive Salary: $65971 - $per annum

Remote and Rural Allowance: $3035 per annum

Travel Allowance: $1136 per annum
