We are looking for a Temporary Psychiatric Provider - 3-6 months!

Catholic Community Services of Western Washington and the Archdiocesan Housing Authority (doing business as Catholic Housing Services and Coordinated Care Agency) are outreaches of the Catholic Church in Western Washington. Rooted in the Gospel message of love and hope we recognize the sacredness and dignity of every human person. Our focus is on those individuals children families and communities struggling with poverty and the effects of intolerance and racism.

The Counseling Recovery & Wellness (CReW) Program is a licensed community mental health and substance use disorder treatment program and provider of the King County Integrated Care Network (KC-ICN). Our collaborative team focuses on serving adults with mental illness and/or substance use disorders to help improve the quality of life for our clients and our great community. Services offered utilize Harm Reduction and Recovery principles with an emphasis on building collaborative relationships with the persons served as the first step towards lasting engagement in treatment. Range of services includes diagnostic assessments individual therapy peer support case management group counseling skills training care coordination medication management and psychoeducation.

Our team was created out of the need for onsite supportive services in our agency housing program and we adapt our services to best fit the unique needs of our clients in a variety of locations within Seattle downtown and greater King County. The Psychiatric Provider either an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or a Psychiatristprovides direct psychiatric services to adults with mental illnesses many of whom are homeless or formerly homeless and have co-occurring substance use disorders. The Provider works in collaboration with the CReW Certified Nursing Assistant Registered Nurse program administration as well as counselors and case managers on the team to ensure quality medical care of individuals with complex needs. The Provider also participates in quality clinical consultation and support to staff on benefits and risks of psychotropic medication as prescribed to individuals with chronic conditions. Psychiatric services are primarily offered at CReWs downtown Seattle location at the Josephinum Apartments and other offices within South King County are available as work locations as well depending upon Provider availability and interest.

Benefits & Compensation

Location:CREW Federal Way

Duration:36 months (temporary assignment)

Hours:Variable based on interest and availability (minimum 8 hours per week)

Compensation:$90 $100 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Conducts psychiatric assessment of individuals.
  • Prescribes and provides medication management as indicated.
  • Provides regular psychiatric/medical consultation and direction to clinical staff.
  • Coordinates care with other involved medical providers.
  • Completes all paperwork and record keeping required of position.
  • Provides periodic in-service training as schedule permits to staff regarding psychiatric/medical and clinical issues.
  • Responsible for upholding a culture of privacy and security in highly confidential work environment (HIPAA covered entity service area).
  • Complies with all CCSWW policies and procedures that involve access to and safeguarding of client Protected Health Information (all forms).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice as an ARNP or MD in the State of Washington with full prescriptive authority and DEA certificate in good standing.
  • Two years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness in an inpatient or outpatient clinical setting.
  • One year direct experience with individuals who have severe substance use disorders
  • Completed training on suicide risk prevention and assessment
  • Demonstrated competence in assessment diagnosis medication evaluation and current sound prescriptive practices for seriously disturbed adults.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively with staff of diverse backgrounds training and levels of experience and to promoting teamwork in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to preservation of a workplace which embraces diversity.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach/mentor and support staff.

Preferrd Qualifications

  • DATA 2000 Waiver and prescriptive authority to monitor individuals on suboxone
  • Ability and willingness to provide clinical training to staff on psychotropic medications diagnostic formulations or other relevant topics as requested by program leadership.
