Are you ready to shape the learning environments of tomorrow Were seeking a driven and experienced Senior Educational Architect to join our growing team in Halifax NS. This is a fantastic opportunity for a licensed architect passionate about K12 and post-secondary facilities who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to lead complex impactful projects.
Youll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering innovative educational spaces that make a lasting impact working alongside a dynamic team of industry experts who value creativity precision and teamwork.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Lead and support the design and delivery of educational projects including new schools campus buildings and modernization programs.
- Facilitate visioning sessions with educators administrators and community stakeholders to translate learning objectives into spatial strategies.
- Prepare architectural designs drawings specifications and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams clients contractors and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with Nova Scotia Building Code accessibility standards and school-specific guidelines.
- Integrate sustainability strategies (LEED Zero Carbon Building Passive House) and oversee BIM workflows in Revit.
- Provide construction support services and conduct site reviews.
- Assist in proposal development and contribute to business development efforts.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive team culture.
What your experience looks like
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- 10 years of relevant experience in building architecture with a strong portfolio of educational projects.
- Registered Architect with the Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA) and Architects Association of New Brunswick (AANB) or eligible for registration.
- Proficiency in Revit and other relevant design software; familiarity with AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of building codes accessibility standards and sustainability certifications.
- Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing large complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.
The salary range for this role is between $100K - $120K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and specific work location.
