Job Summary

About the Role

The Inventory Control & Receiving Manager is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy system integrity and compliant receiving operations that support uninterrupted production and distribution. This role owns inbound material processes including receiving inspection documentation discrepancy resolution inventory transactions cycle counting physical inventories and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). The manager oversees all incoming shipments ensuring materials are accurately verified recorded stored and made available to production in a safe and efficient manner.

This position leads the receiving shipping supply chain engineering and cycle count teams and supports material movement throughout the distribution center. The Inventory Control & Receiving Manager maintains and analyzes inventory records related to usage quantity obsolescence and value and partners closely with Purchasing Accounting Engineering Operations Production Customer Support and Shipping. Serving as a subject matter expert and internal resource this role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement inventory accuracy and timely material flow. This position reports to the Distribution Manager.

This role requires experience in forklift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and administer cycle count and annual physical inventory programs to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and optimize automated inventory control systems; manage inventory transactions and data integrity.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies using reports audits and root cause analysis tools.
  • Analyze inventory levels demand and production flow to set reorder points and minimize carrying costs.
  • Support implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) into production.
  • Oversee daily receiving operations including inspection documentation and put-away.
  • Own departmental budget cost center accounting and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary receiving and inventory control SME; train associates on SOPs systems and equipment.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to support on-time and accurate deliveries.
  • Prepare and present inventory and receiving KPIs (accuracy dock-to-stock damages).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S Kaizen) to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Identify skill gaps and develop team capabilities through coaching and training.
  • Escalate operational issues and remove roadblocks impacting plant performance.
  • Ensure safety housekeeping and regulatory compliance across receiving and inventory areas.

Qualifications

  • 6 years experience in inventory control receiving or warehouse in a manufacturing distribution or supply chain environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and processes and working experience using financial budget tracking tools.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and RF scanners.
  • Proficient in a variety of computer programs and systems at an intermediate level including Google Suite Word Excel Email Internet SAP and Agile.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
  • Strong communication organizational and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well versed in root cause analysis tools and corrective actions
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA degree in Business Purchasing/Supply Chain or related field preferred
  • SAP highly preferred
  • Managing Exempt and Non-exempt teams
  • Experience in cycle count leadership or root-cause inventory analysis.
  • Exposure to Lean principles 5S or continuous improvement methodologies.

Working Environment

Work is performed indoors in a heated modern factory space. Ambient working temperature may range from 50 F 90 F depending on the season. The work area is clean and free from wet slippery conditions. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses safety shoes hearing protection and gloves. A respirator may be required if applicable.

Ability to lift to 40 lbs.

  • Ability to frequently (6-8 hrs.): talk and/or hear see stand use hands reach at or above the shoulder.
  • Ability to routinely (4-6 hrs.): bend do simple finger grasping lift waist to shoulder.
  • Ability to occasionally (2-4 hrs.): walk lift floor to waist reach above the shoulder push and pull using wheeled carts and bins.
  • Ability to on a rare basis (0-2 hrs.): Sit kneel or crawl stoop or squat twist use of feet (foot pedals) lifting shoulder to overhead climb (small ladder) or balance.

Pay Range: $90000 to $100000

The pay range represents the low and high end of the anticipated pay range for this position based at our Woodinville WA headquarters. The actual pay offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance business objectives and if the location for the job changes.
