Ozarks First in Springfield Missouri is hiring a Producer for our 2-hour morning newscast Daybreak. We are looking for someone who can create compelling relevant and interactive news segments that showcase our personalities. The Morning Producer must be a communicator and a collaborator. You must be someone who can see the big picture as well as someone with an eye for details.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Select and prioritize stories that provide our viewers with a mix of news talkers and sports relevant to the Ozarks.
- Work with managers to execute the morning strategy that includes a mix of content from broadcast (traditional) website (fresh/visual) social media (interactive) and CTV (streaming app).
- Write concise and conversational stories. Pace and energy are critical.
- Produce error-free work. Must be a stickler for details.
- Leads during severe weather and breaking news coverage.
- Communicate and collaborate professionally and respectfully with your coworkers.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- College degree in journalism or a related field and experience with broadcast and digital storytelling.
- Must have a desire to win a positive attitude and the ability to reflect on your work and apply feedback.
- Ability to research and employ critical thinking skills to dig beyond the headline and verify incoming emails and news tips.
- Strong time management skills are essential. Work with urgency and accuracy.
- Must maintain composure especially during breaking news or deadline pressure.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
