Job Title: Senior Mainframe Application Developer
Work Arrangement
Role Summary
The Senior Mainframe Application Developer will be responsible for end-to-end design development maintenance and support of large-scale mainframe applications. The role involves working with hierarchical databases legacy systems and enterprise-grade tools while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams throughout the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
Design develop test debug and maintain mainframe applications
Translate system and business specifications into working tested solutions
Perform IMS database reorganization unload/reload and recovery activities
Manage server-side logic and ensure performance reliability and responsiveness
Troubleshoot production issues and provide post-implementation support
Maintain technical and user documentation
Participate in design walkthroughs and structured development methodologies
Collaborate with developers analysts and stakeholders to meet delivery timelines
Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience (Mandatory)
10 years of experience in programming and systems analysis
10 years working with structured development methodologies
10 years in full lifecycle application development (design code test debug document)
10 years experience with hierarchical databases:
10 years hands-on experience with:
Enterprise COBOL
Assembler
JCL
TSO/ISPF
REXX
CLIST
BTS
Mainframe & Tools
IMS DB/DC (Full Function & FASTPATH)
CA Telon (3GL development)
IBM ACB BDB PSB generation
