Job Title: Senior Mainframe Application Developer

Work Arrangement

• Onsite 5 days/week

• MondayFriday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Role Summary

The Senior Mainframe Application Developer will be responsible for end-to-end design development maintenance and support of large-scale mainframe applications. The role involves working with hierarchical databases legacy systems and enterprise-grade tools while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams throughout the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop test debug and maintain mainframe applications

• Translate system and business specifications into working tested solutions

• Perform IMS database reorganization unload/reload and recovery activities

• Manage server-side logic and ensure performance reliability and responsiveness

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide post-implementation support

• Maintain technical and user documentation

• Participate in design walkthroughs and structured development methodologies

• Collaborate with developers analysts and stakeholders to meet delivery timelines

Required Skills & Experience

Core Experience (Mandatory)

• 10 years of experience in programming and systems analysis

• 10 years working with structured development methodologies

• 10 years in full lifecycle application development (design code test debug document)

• 10 years experience with hierarchical databases:

  • IMS DB

  • VSAM

  • IMS DB Reorganization Unload/Reload Recovery Control

• 10 years hands-on experience with:

  • Enterprise COBOL

  • Assembler

  • JCL

  • TSO/ISPF

  • REXX

  • CLIST

  • BTS

Mainframe & Tools

• IMS DB/DC (Full Function & FASTPATH)

• CA Telon (3GL development)

• IBM ACB BDB PSB generation

• CA Easytrieve CA SAR

• CA Scheduler File-Aid Abend-Aid

• IBM 3270 SNA NDM and related communication protocols

Domain Experience

• Experience with property registration systems (PPSR or similar) preferred

• Experience working in large enterprise environments with defined policies and procedures

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Clear verbal and written communication

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in high-dependency environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with internet-ready applications and middleware

• Knowledge of rapid application development (RAD) methodologies

• Experience reviewing and modifying installation scripts

• Understanding of information management principles and accessibility standards
