The Position

Working in alignment with HousingFirst s mission and strategic objectives the Development Manager leads the acquisition and delivery of community housing projects overseeing funding proposals tendering construction and handover while building strong stakeholder relationships. The role ensures projects meet timelines budgets and quality standards supports continuous service improvement and operates with a high level of independence.

This role has a Salary of $150000 per annum plus superannuation and access to salary packaging.

Responsibilities

Support the Head of Developments & Asset with preparing high-quality funding proposals that aligns with organisational priorities and objectives

Managing and administering the tender/bid stage planning pre-construction tender works construction delivery post-construction and handover of HousingFirsts community housing projects; ensuring timely delivery budget control and quality are maintained.

Ensuring effective communication with all constituents funding bodies and stakeholders while ensuring effective and positive promotion of the organisation and its activities.

Identifying developing and retaining effective relationships with relevant project stakeholders; such as consultants statutory authorities builders suppliers and contractors.

Working with HousingFirst staff and service users to further improve the delivery quality and scope of community housing services in accordance with HousingFirsts Mission Values Purpose Strategic Goals and Business Plan.

As our ideal candidate you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. project management) and/or a degree in property and construction engineering or a related field.

Demonstrable experience in project management and/or development management.

Ability to use relevant computer software such as Microsoft Project Office applications Estate Master.

Ability to prepare and interpret a cashflow analysis.

Excellent verbal communication skills

Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write non-standard reports

Well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills

Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skill

Highly developed team leadership skills including leadership of project teams

Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision

Enthusiastic self-starter with capacity for sustained effort

Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and to meet deadlines and tight timeframes

Responsive to feedback including constructive feedback given in an objective manner

Desire to be part of a values driven and community focussed organisation
