Location Profile:

Headquartered in Irvine CA Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly structural assembly rotor blade attachment and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining CNC Waterjet Cutting Laser Marking Heat Treating NDT and EDM.

Position Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk Level 1 is an entry-level role responsible for performing routine shipping and receiving duties in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. Working under direct supervision the clerk assists with loading/unloading deliveries verifying packing slips and order contents conducting basic visual inspections and preparing materials for outbound shipments. This position also supports packaging operations including wrapping boxing labeling and banding and may assist with documentation and basic computer transactions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Follow safety protocols including proper use of PPE and safe equipment handling
• Adhere to quality standards through basic in-process inspections
• Interpret and verify work orders and associated documentation
• Safely lift items up to 45 lbs
• Support team operations by following instructions and assisting others as needed
• Unload inbound shipments and visually inspect and verify materials received
• Prepare materials for inspections or processing
• Pull inventory stock to fulfill orders for shipment
• Palletize and secure goods for transport using banding wrapping and labeling methods
• Perform basic data entry and system transactions
• Create simple shipping documents (e.g. Bill of Lading Proof of Delivery)
• Complete basic packaging tasks such as weighing counting labeling and boxing
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to read write and understand English
• Internal forklift certification required
• Basic understanding of shipping procedures and equipment
• Ability to perform basic shop math (fractions decimals measurements)
• Familiarity with using a computer to locate work instructions and process documents
• Ability to read and follow written instructions including basic blueprints or dimensioned drawings
• 12 years of experience in shipping/receiving or a related field preferred

Work Environment

Work will be performed in an office environment. Essential job functions may occasionally require the employee to enter the shop floor. Employee will be required to follow all safety procedures in the Office and shop floor environments and employees will never be required to do anything without the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Schedule

1st Shift: 6am - 2:30pm

Monday - Friday daily overtime and weekend shifts as needed by the supervisor.
