Day to day you will:
- Identify and react to breaking news issues and trends across all sporting codes.
- Monitor social media and online networks to capture and report on trending stories.
- Produce innovative engaging content tailored for television and digital platforms.
- Cultivate and maintain a robust network of influential sports industry contacts.
- Collaborate with the News Director and Chief of Staff to ensure premium coverage.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment consistently delivering quality under tight deadlines.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to cover major matches and breaking news as it happens.
Qualifications :
What youll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Journalism or a related communications field.
- Prior experience in television radio or modern news media environments.
- Exceptional broadcast-writing skills with a focus on clear impactful storytelling.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build professional relationships.
- A sound understanding of Australian media law and ethical broadcasting standards.
- Familiarity with ENPS Velocity or similar broadcast television software.
- A tenacious team-oriented mindset with a genuine passion for the sporting landscape.
