The Role
The ABC is looking for a Climate Reporter to drive national storytelling on climate change across all ABC platforms creating impactful coverage that informs inspires and engages Australians
The Job
- Report and present compelling climate stories across digital TV radio and social platforms.
- Lead and break national stories that shape Australias climate conversation.
- Cover science technology policy and community impacts including business sportand lifestyle.
- Build strong contacts and produce original high-impact journalism.
- Use multimedia storytelling to inform and engage audiences.
- Collaborate mentor and provide editorial leadership across the News division.
- Reflect Australias cultural and geographic diversity in your storytelling.
Position Description: CLIMATE REPORTER
About You
Youll have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience.
- Strong editorial judgment and experience reporting complex stories acrossdigital TVand radio.
- Skilled in data journalism and translating complex data into accessible stories.
- Deep understanding of audience digital and social trends to maximise reach and engagement.
- Proven self-starter with a record of breaking impactful national stories meeting tight deadlines
- Excellent live presentation and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities in a newsroom setting.
- Experienced in producing accurate engaging and innovative news content.
