You run a profitable growth business that has one purpose: to help all families discover the joy of everyday life.
You lead a sales force of experts advocates and consultants that discover guests needs and offer solutions toearn their loyalty.

Guest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest first culture across the store
Retail business financials (e.g. payroll profit and loss) and driving sales growth
Creating store specific strategies and managing your team to deliver results
Retail business fundamentals for total store: sales trends inventory management guest shopping patterns
and satisfaction pricing and promotions strategies and specialty businesses
Setting and planning total store quarterly business priorities and managing a team to deliver on sales goals
Making business decisions by assessing market competition understanding guest insights and feedback
Managing a large team of hourly team members and leaders as well as leaders of leaders
Recruiting selecting talent management and talent planning across all departments of the store
As a Store Director no two days are ever the same but a typical day will most likelyinclude the following responsibilities:
Own your stores overall business to drive efficiency and grow sales
Lead and create a service culture utilizing tools and routines that model train and coach behavioralexpectations to deliver the service standard
Demonstrate and promote a commitment to diversity equity and inclusion through continuousdevelopment modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias
In partnership with HR support the leadership team in ensuring equitable experiences strengtheninginclusion acumen and promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging that embraces the contributions ofall team members
Leverage your reports (financial operational safety food safety team and guest) to understand thebusiness and make decisions
Lead and create a culture of executing all best practices by understanding where operational shortage canoccur throughout the building build routines and action plans to resolve opportunities and establish cleargoals and expectations to hold team accountable
Lead a culture of financial accountability through following your leadership headcount guideline payrollmanagement and hourly overtime guidance
Understand sales trends and your role in sales growth and how each department and team contribute andimpact total store profitability.
Lead your team to drive profitable sales growth in all areas of your store
Know and assess the competition; leverage guest insights and feedback to drive the business and be thedestination of choice for our guests
Build relationships that are important to the stores community to address the most pressing local needs
Lead an efficient operation to fund future growth
Create and lead a safety advocacy culture by understanding how safety impacts your role and that of yourteam identifying and correcting hazards and holding team members accountable to working in a safematter to benefit themselves and others
As a key carrier follow all safe and secure training and processes
Address store needs (emergency regulatory visits etc.)
Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct safety (including food safety) and compliance; Lead andhold the team accountable to work in the same way
Cultivate a guest-centric and engaged team
Create and lead the scheduling process to publish schedules that meet the needs of your business while
providing a consistent guest experience and aligning with team member availability and desired hours
Lead a talent culture through taking an active role in the development of your leaders to be champions of aguest-centric culture
Lead the team and model our guest service behaviors with the goal of exceeding guest experienceexpectations
Drive a guest-obsessed culture that balances both the in-store and digital guest to deliver on storesales goals and execute to meet daily timelines
Champion a physical and digital offerings to ensure your team can inform educate and promote the suiteof benefits features and offerings that reward our guest and/or enhance their shopping experience
(including the Target App RedCard Target Circle Drive Up Order Pick Up and Shipt)
Recruit hire and retain a passionate team for area specific knowledge and expertise
Invest in and follow up on personal and team training to enhance skills and capabilities following up toconsistently achieve timely completion of required training
Lead an open-door culture where leaders and team members feel heard and issues are quickly resolved
Lead a culture of accountability through clear expectations and consistent performance management
Create sustainable talent strategies to fuel career progression and continued team growth
Own and implement leadership schedules that align to guest and business needs (including weekendsmornings evenings overnight and appropriate seasonal adjustments)

need to know to be a Store Director. But there are a few skills you should have from the get go:
Four-year degree or equivalent experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong cognitive skills including problem analysis decision making financial and quantitative analysis
Manage conflict and lead and hold others accountable
Relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization
Welcoming and helpful attitude
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple taskswithin established timeframes
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and othertechnology equipment as directed

Interpret instructions reports and information
Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
Climb up and down ladders as needed
Scan handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting or movingmerchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures humidity and other elements whileperforming certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up carryout etc.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
Flexible work schedule (e.g. nights weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance
