Area Manager Janitorial Services
Location: Bloomington IL & surrounding areas
ESS Clean is seeking a motivated hands-on leader to join our team as an Area Manager. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams solving problems and staying actively involved in daily operations.
As an Area Manager youll oversee janitorial services across multiple client sites ensuring consistent quality strong employee performance and excellent customer satisfaction. Youll work closely with both employees and clients and step in when needed to support operations and maintain service standards.
ESS Clean offers a company car or van for work use and a full benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supervise and support cleaning associates across multiple client locations
- Perform hands-on cleaning tasks as needed to ensure uninterrupted service
- Conduct routine quality control inspections to ensure contract and client standards are met
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients addressing concerns professionally and promptly
- Create and manage employee schedules to ensure accurate timely service coverage
- Train coach and mentor employees on cleaning methods safety and performance expectations
- Manage supplies and equipment to ensure all sites are properly stocked
- Coordinate special projects and deep-cleaning services as requested
- Respond to service issues or complaints documenting and following through to resolution
- Communicate performance updates challenges and solutions to upper management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent dependable service
Qualifications
- Experience in a management supervisory or leadership role
(Facilities or janitorial experience preferred) - Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple locations teams and priorities
- Experience with scheduling inventory and service-based operations
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Physically able to perform cleaning tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) and basic digital tools
- Valid drivers license required
Additional Skills & Requirements
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods products and equipment is a plus
- Flexibility to adjust hours as needed including occasional weekends or emergencies

This is a Full-Time positionMonday-Friday 4:30pm-1:00am plus rotating weekends on-call.
