Position Summary
The Tax Manager will manage client engagements oversee tax preparation and review and provide planning and advisory services. This role works closely with partners and senior leadership while supervising staff and maintaining high service standards.
The ideal candidate is technically strong organized and experienced in client management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage tax engagements for individuals partnerships corporations and trusts
Review federal state and local tax returns and estimates
Provide tax planning and advisory support to clients
Maintain ongoing client relationships and communication
Identify and resolve tax compliance and reporting issues
Conduct tax research and prepare technical analyses
Supervise and review work prepared by staff and seniors
Assist with engagement scheduling and workflow management
Support billing budgeting and project timelines
Stay current on tax law changes and best practices
Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (required)
Graduate degree in Taxation preferred
Experience
57 years of public accounting tax experience
Experience reviewing complex tax returns
Prior experience supervising staff preferred
Certifications
CPA required or in active pursuit
Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
Exposure to multi-state taxation preferred
Experience with tax preparation and research software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and client service skills
Ability to manage multiple engagements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
