About the role:
This position will be part of a team of hard-working professionals in a growing and technically exciting field working towards achieving theobjectivesof Elk Valley Resources (EVRs) Elk Valley Water Quality Plan!
Reporting to the Lead Environment Water Treatment the Coordinator Environment Water Treatmentis responsible forproviding operations and project support for theWest Line Creek Active Water Treatment Facility(WLCAWTF).You willbe responsible forsupporting a water treatment facility in environmental risk identification and mitigation and environmental role will be based out of Sparwood thoughroutinetravel to site will also be expected.

In this role you will:

    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
    • Develop review and implement operational plans management plansbest management practicesproceduresand work instructions
    • Prepare and coordinate the submission of internal and external reportsincluding the quarterly and annual treatment performance reports
    • Coordinate sampling programs forcompliance monitoring supportmonitoring programs and ongoing operations and review monitoring programdata and consultant reports
    • Managegraphandanalyzewater qualitydata including conducting QA/QC
    • Develop review and implement site specific compliance and environmental monitoring programs data management systems and sampling and lab monitoring procedures
    • Understand applicable commitments permits and associated requirements to inform management decisions and actions
    • Develop and provide environmental training toProject andOperationsTeams
    • Contribute to project application reviews hazardassessmentsand guide the development of complex risk reduction programs for upcoming projects and facility expansions
    • Provide environmental support during pre-commissioning and commissioning of facility expansionsand new facilities

Requirements:

    • Degree or Diploma in an Environmental Science subject area
    • Minimum threeyears experiencein the field of environmental compliance ormonitoringin the water treatment or resource management fields
    • Technical knowledge of relevant environmental legislation standards and effective industry practices related to water management and resource development
    • Experience with environmental data management software and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite; especially Excel
    • Knowledge of environmental science environmental engineering biology chemistry water quality water treatment or fisheries is an asset
    • Experience in water treatment is an asset
    • EQuISexperience is an asset
    • Groundwater monitoringfieldexperience is an asset
    • Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
$94000 - $116000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
