Sales Ledger Assistant

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
Were looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Sales Ledger Assistant to join our Finance team at Ground this role youll play a key part in managing the sales ledger function ensuring customer invoicing payments and reconciliations are handled accurately and efficiently. Your work will directly support cash flow financial controls and the smooth running of our business operations.
This is a great opportunity for someone with sales ledger experience who enjoys working collaboratively takes pride in accuracy and is motivated by meeting deadlines and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate and issue customer invoices and credit notes in line with contract terms and project milestones
Record process and accurately allocate incoming customer payments
Maintain the sales ledger carrying out regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
Post daily bank receipts and reconcile payments against customer accounts
Support purchase ledger activities including processing subcontractor invoices and assisting with payment runs
Investigate and resolve customer account queries and discrepancies promptly and professionally
Manage the team inbox and respond to phone enquiries from internal stakeholders and external customers
Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly sales ledger reports
Support month-end and year-end close processes related to the sales ledger
Work closely with Contracts Commercial and Finance teams to ensure billing accuracy and high customer satisfaction
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and relevant regulations
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.

Previous practical experience in a sales ledger role
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
A target-focused mindset supporting the team to meet month-end and year-end deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel
Desirable
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics (advantageous but not essential)
