A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working closely with a number of inclusive mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions in Holloway to recruit dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants. These roles are available across primary and secondary settings supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Holloway you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who require additional help to access learning manage emotions and engage positively within the school environment. Pupils may present with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD SEMH speech and language difficulties moderate learning difficulties and sensory processing needs.
You may be assigned to work 1:1 with a specific pupil support small intervention groups or work flexibly across the some schools you may also support pupils during unstructured times such as lunch and break where consistency and calm adult presence are particularly important.
The role requires patience empathy and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will be expected to follow behaviour strategies and SEN plans while adapting your approach to meet individual pupil needs.
Provide targeted SEN support in line with EHCPs and individual support plans
Support pupils with emotional regulation behaviour and social interaction
Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons and activities
Encourage independence resilience and confidence
Support pupils during transitions and sensory regulation activities
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs
Maintain accurate records in line with school policies
Uphold safeguarding behaviour and inclusion procedures at all times
