We are seeking a Digitisation Operative (m/f/d) in the field of Digitalization. Our client is a global leader in online genealogy who helps millions of people explore and connect with their family history. As a pioneer in digital ancestry research the company combines modern technology with a meaningful this role you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for the digitization of historical documents ensuring that valuable records are preserved and made accessible online. Your work will contribute directly to making history available to future generations.
Location: Leipzig
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Digitization of historical documents in accordance with established standards
Quality control of digital copies regarding completeness legibility and technical accuracy
Preparation of documents for the digitization process (e.g. review sorting basic preservation-related handling)
Collaboration with members of the digitization team
Documentation of digitization workflows and results
Requirements:
The willingness to acquire digitization techniques
The ability to work independently and accurately
Initiative and ability to work in a team
Care in handling historical documents
Good knowledge of spoken and written German
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of historical manuscripts is an advantage
Experience in dealing with historical documents is an advantage
Knowledge of English is an advantage
