Job Summary
Senior Engineer (Packaging & Sustainability)

Qualification : BE in Mechanical / Printing Technology / Industrial Engineering
Sustainable Packaging Innovation
Spearhead the development of next-generation packaging solutions aligned with global sustainability goals and client-specific requirements meeting EU regulations TAPPI ISO ISTA-6A ISPM-15 standards
Lead ideation workshops and design reviews using advanced CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks Creo Adobe Illustrator Artios CAD) to foster innovation and design excellence
Lead concept-to-prototype development of packaging solutions using SolidWorks Creo Artios CAD and Adobe Illustrator.
Deliver ISTA-6A Transport ready packaging solutions- 100% plastic-free packaging designs that are 45% lighter 56% more compact and reusable up to 4 cycles for heavy duty electrical products panels and 1.5 tonnes of Modular data centre packaging
Replace single-use plastics with biodegradable recyclable and reusable packaging solutions
Conduct packaging validation testing and quantification for global clients as per ISTA ASTMISO and IS standards.
Ensure compliance with international standards and support technical documentation for audits and certifications
Business Impact & Value Engineering
Lead cost optimization initiatives through packaging redesign material substitution and process improvements
Deliver measurable business outcomes including weight reduction volume optimization and value engineering with potential cost savings across multiple product lines
Global Compliance & Testing Management
Oversee packaging validation and compliance for US European and APMEA markets
Establish testing protocols test reports and quality standards in collaboration with certified labs and regulatory bodies

Cross-Functional & Vendor Managment
Manage cross-functional collaboration with design procurement sustainability and quality teams to ensure seamless execution
Lead vendor scouting development and audit processes to build a robust and compliant supply chain ecosystem
Knowledge on Sustainability
Sustainability
i. Champion the integration of LCA tools to assess and reduce Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) across packaging portfolios
ii. Develop and implement 100% plastic-free biodegradable and reusable packaging systems setting benchmarks for industry compliance (ISTA-6AISO regulations) to develop transport ready solutions from concept to validation till final commercialization
Documentation & Knowledge Management
i. Develop SOPs technical documentation and sustainability reports for internal and client use
ii. Maintain knowledge repositories and contribute to organizational learning and capability building
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training
i. Coordinate with design procurement and sustainability teams to align packaging with product requirements.
