Oracle Software Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a hybrid contract in Austin TX. This role primarily supports the Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) system while also providing backup support for the Meter Data Management System (MDMS) as needed. These are critical production systems running 24x7x365 and the position involves managing enterprise applications troubleshooting issues running batch jobs implementing customer-requested changes generating reports supporting training applying patches and upgrades and maintaining overall system health.

Candidates must be flexible to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends. Hours could be performed between 5:00 AM 1:00 AM (Monday Sunday) or until the environment is restored. The resource is required to attend onsite meetings at 4815 Mueller Blvd Austin TX 78723.

Responsibilities:

This role manages and supports focused technology using comprehensive knowledge and competency. The specialist performs duties to support batch processing troubleshooting implementing customer-requested changes report writing training support patching and upgrading and monitoring overall system health. The position includes evaluating system performance performing health checks implementing tuning improvements and ensuring disaster recovery and continuity of operations. The resource may work across development testing and production environments providing ongoing support to ensure optimal functionality of MWM and MDMS or similar enterprise systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

8 years of experience supporting business/customer critical enterprise systems

8 years of experience with Oracle Database/PL/SQL and setting up system connections

8 years of experience upgrading maintaining troubleshooting and administering MWM MDMS or similar complex enterprise applications including large volumes of data complex interfaces job scheduling and disaster recovery plans (SDLC DEV TEST PROD)

8 years of experience with UNIX navigation AIX/Linux (Red Hat & SUSE) and writing KornShell (ksh) scripts

8 years of experience evaluating system performance and health checks implementing tuning improvements and performing system sizing estimates

Willingness to work non-traditional hours including 5:00 AM 1:00 AM (Monday Sunday) or until environment is restored

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of previous experience with technology stacks and understanding their impacts

3 years of previous experience with Oracle Mobile Workforce Management system (MWM)

3 years of previous experience with LandisGyr Meter Data Management System (MDMS)

3 years of previous experience documenting and communicating IT processes and procedures across multiple platforms

3 years of previous experience implementing application security procedures and updating Java key stores

3 years of previous experience with report development in complex applications

3 years of previous experience with WebLogic 12.2 server maintenance

5 years of previous experience with Java Groovy JavaScript and Python

5 years of previous experience developing and supporting APIs including error handling

5 years of previous experience managing enterprise applications using Java/Web Services independently
