Quality Analyst (Testing)

The Georgia Dept. of Labor (GDOL) is looking for a skilled and experienced Quality analyst (tester) This role involves writing testcases testing the applications validating the results identifying and logging the bugs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of testing Java programming language and JCL on IBM/DELL mainframe operating systems. This is a consulting position offering a challenging opportunity to contribute to critical projects and enhance your technical skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing business requirements and develop detailed test plans test scenarios and test cases. Perform testing activities for Java program son distributed platforms.
- Strong Experience with database technologies such as Postgres and DB2 including queries and data verification
- Execute test program changes update test files run tests review results and ensure the correctness of program changes based on provided requirements.
- Hands-on experience in Jira tool
- Prepare both program-level and user-level documentation to support the software development lifecycle.
- Organize manage and provide clear guidance to teams in order to reach the testing goals and tight deadlines with candor transparency &collaboration.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Testing Java programs
- Proven experience with DB2 and Postgres
- Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle including writing test cases execution of test cases and integration testing and deployment.
- Ability to troubleshoot test and debug computer software to produce required outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills to support non-database functions correct data errors and develop data analysis/summary reports.
- Experience in preparing comprehensive documentation for both program-level and user-level.
- Excellent communication skills to obtain user sign-off on all changes prior to moving to production.
- Capability to follow organization guidelines and procedures for checking out source code migrating changes etc.
- Commitment to enhancing software for improved efficiency and reduced operating time.
Good to have /Skills:
- Java programming knowledge
- AWS hands on experience
- Kofax
