Summary:
-
Perform complex tool setup activities including alignment and leveling
-
Conduct visual inspections of tooling using appropriate documentation
-
Perform major tool repairs and fabricate assembly and production tooling
-
Manufacture assembly and fabrication tools using manual and CNC equipment hand tools and precision alignment equipment
-
Operate factory support equipment to move materials and tooling as required
-
Provide tooling support to internal organizations
-
Design part fabrication and assembly tools based on engineering drawings or customer requests
-
Determine fabrication and assembly processes for tool designs
-
Reverse engineer tooling designs and fabrication processes as needed
-
Demonstrate tool functionality by manufacturing first articles and resolving any issues to ensure acceptable parts and assemblies
-
Deliver training to internal users on the use repair and maintenance of complex below-the-hook equipment
-
Use operational manuals and tooling drawings to ensure safe equipment use
-
Review internal equipment requirements and evaluate vendor capabilities
-
Verify structural integrity of purchased fabricated and repaired handling equipment
-
Perform routine and complex scheduled proof-load testing using weights scales and rigging
-
Provide guidance to less experienced Proof Load Technicians
-
Conduct pre- and post-test inspections of handling equipment
-
Review proof-load test documentation inspection records and maintenance activities for accuracy and completeness
-
Recommend process and procedural improvements to increase safety reliability and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
- Education and experience typically acquired through a high school diploma or GED and 4 years of related experience
-
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered (e.g. vocational training associates degree or bachelors degree with relevant experience)
-
Ability to stand turn lift climb and operate factory support equipment
-
