Job Summary

The key role of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is to support compliance with local state and federal regulations and provide leadership that creates and promotes a safety driven culture within our organization.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct incident investigation root cause analysis and assist with developing corrective actions.
  • In conjunction with Operations Team conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Maintain regular and routine presence on the production floor and actively engage with employees to promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct employee training on a wide range of EHS topics.
  • Conduct new hire on-boarding training.
  • Conduct production floor hands on training.
  • Support managers supervisors and workers on methods to foster and monitor a positive and effective EHS culture.
  • Facilitate injury response.
  • Participate in injury reporting and management.
  • Ensure that proper PPE and emergency response equipment is available.
  • Coordinate hazardous and universal waste program.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures.
  • Schedule/coordinate industrial hygiene testing.
  • Ensure that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and readily accessible.
  • Ensure proper chemical approval handling labelling and storage.
  • Coordinate workplace inspection activities to monitor the presence and use of hazard controls.
  • Support monitoring and measurement of EHS performance.
  • Communicate and engage with employees at all levels to identify and mitigate risk while optimizing worker health and safety.
  • Contribute to monitoring of employees and contractors personnel and their compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Performs administrative duties for the EHS department including but not limited to general data entry and filing of training records compliance documentation and other EH&S records.
  • The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Leadership and the ability to influence and manage change through positive interactions.

Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback.

Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Provide after-hours support as necessary.

B.S. in Environmental Science; Industrial Hygiene; or equivalent degree. (5 years experience in EHS will be accepted in lieu of B.S)

Minimum 3 years experience in Environmental Health and Safety.

Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Familiarity with local state and federal EHS regulations.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Travel as necessary.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions in this job grade with the final offer depending on factors like experience education location and other relevant considerations. Additionally this role qualifies for extra benefits beyond the base pay range mentioned.
