The Artificial Intelligence Alpha Group (AAG) is a newly formed AI-native investment team building and applying advanced AI technologies to deliver superior investment performance. We are a collaborative and cross-functional team of investors data scientists and technologists using AI to reimagine fundamental investing.
What impact can you make in this role
As an Applied AI Engineer you will design build and iterate AI-driven investment systems end-to-end translating raw data and ambiguous problem statements into production-grade solutions with measurable investment impact.
You will work across datamodelsand systems collaborating closely with portfolio managersengineersand domain experts toembed AI capabilities directly into coreinvestmentworkflows.
The ideal candidate combines strong full-stack engineering capabilities with working knowledge of data pipelines and deployment environments a deep curiosity about the latest advancements in AI technologies and hands-on experience using AI tools to automate accelerateand enhance software development.
What will you do in this role
Implement and operationalize system components into production-ready applications.
Translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications and development plans.
Develop andmaintainfull-stack applications using modern frameworks and best practices across backend and frontend systems.
Build andoptimizedata processing workflows including data extraction transformation integration pipelines and feature engineering to support AI models and applications.
Implement evaluation frameworksmetricsand monitoring solutions to assess model and system performance; deploy applications todesignatedenvironments and ensure stable reliable operation in production.
Write andmaintainunit integration and end-to-end tests to ensure code reliability performance and maintainability.
Contribute to technical documentation andfacilitatecross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle.
Leverage AI-native development tools for coding documentation testing and troubleshooting while continuously exploring emerging AI techniques to enhance development productivity and quality.
What qualifications skills and traits should you possess in this role
Bachelors degree of higher in Computer Science Software Engineering orrelatedfield.
3 years of experience inbackenddevelopment withproficiencyin a Python-based backend framework ( Django Flask).
Familiarity with RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and Vector DB
Working knowledge of data pipeline development including data extraction transformation and integration processes.
Experiencewithcloudandlarge-scale data platforms ( AWS or equivalents) is a plus.
Working knowledge of modern machine learning workflows(feature engineering model trainingevaluationand iteration)and practical familiarity with LLMsembeddingsand prompt-based systems.
Demonstrated ability to ship production-grade solutions and leverage AI-native development tools to accelerate coding testing and documentation.
Solid understanding of web architecture APIs and software design principles.
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and product teams.
Deep curiosity and passion for exploring emerging AI technologies and applying them to real-world product development.
