Job Summary

Are you an experienced project professional who wants to take a leading role in modernising and improving how we work across St Mungos

Were looking for an Assistant Head of Project Delivery and Assurance to join our Change and Transformation Team.

Reporting to the Head of Change and Transformation youll lead on project delivery and assurance driving a varied programme to modernise systems and processes at St Mungos ultimately helping colleagues deliver the best possible service to people experiencing homelessness.

Youll oversee a team of Project Managers Business Analysts and our PMO Lead managing projects such as IT system replacements data transformation initiatives and operational improvements like relocating our central office. Theres a lot happening and this role is key to ensuring projects are delivered on time on budget and achieve the benefits we need.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate projects across St Mungos ensuring resources are in place and building a pipeline of change that meets business needs.
  • Keep the Transformation Portfolio Management Committee informed enabling scrutiny of performance risks and assurance to the Board.
  • Develop robust project controls and artefacts for successful delivery.
  • Build organisational project delivery capability to increase capacity for change.
  • Ensure strong management of budgets risks issues dependencies and benefits at both project and portfolio level.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for 2 days per week from our Central Office in London. This allows for training in person collaboration team building line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home or other St Mungos London or regional locations.

While our Central Office is currently based in Tower Hill London we plan to relocate in the summer of 2026 to a new space in Farringdon London.

About you

We are looking for an experienced project professional who can quickly take the lead and drive impact building on the strong foundations weve set to professionalise project delivery.

You will be an excellent problem solver with strong communication and influencing skills able to engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation.

You will bring proven experience in leading portfolios programmes or projects within a structured project control environment using methodologies such as P3O PRINCE2 or Agile.

Above all you make things happen have the ability to drive progress efficiently while building engagement and collaboration along the way always ensuring outcomes are achieved and meet the needs of the organisation.
