Were looking for a Senior Associate to join our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team someone who wants to run real matters build trusted client relationships and grow into a genuine leadership role inside a modern and high-performing commercial litigation firm.
Youll work across a diverse and challenging litigation practice in various courts and tribunals but predominantly in the Supreme Court of Western Australia. You will be acting for SME high-net-worth and commercial clients in matters.. You will work closely with our Litigation Principal and experienced and senior counsel while also being trusted with day-to-day carriage of your own files and junior team members.
This is not a just draft and wait for instructions role.
You will be part of the thinking the strategy and the outcomes.
What youll be doing
You will be actively involved in all stages of litigation including:
Running and contributing to complex commercial and civil litigation matters
Drafting pleadings affidavits submissions and correspondence
Preparing matters for hearings trials and mediations (including examination-in-chief and cross-examination preparation)
Appearing in courts and tribunals as appropriate
Working closely with clients and providing clear confident and commercially grounded advice
Supporting and leading junior solicitors and graduates in their development
Working directly with counsel and the Litigation Principal on navigating and strategising complex and high-stakes matters
You will be expected to take ownership of your matters not just service them and to exercise sound judgment commercial awareness and professional accountability in doing so.
Who were looking for
You will ideally have:
5 years PAE in litigation and dispute resolution
The ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy and judgment
Strong working knowledge of civil procedure and evidence
Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
A client-focused mindset you care about people not just files
The confidence to engage with counsel clients and the court as a trusted professional
