We are seeking a Strategy Specialist to join International Revenue Strategy to provide end to end analysis advice and guidance that supports IRs leaders to develop the coherence and clarity of purpose needed to articulate a strategic intent that is intelligence-led improves the customer experience and delivers the outcomes required by government.
Ara Whiwhi Mahi The Opportunity
As a Strategy Specialist you will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring that New Zealand meets its obligations and ongoing compliance with key international standards such as the Global Anti-Base Erosion rules (GloBE rules or alternatively Pillar 2).
Working with the Strategic Advisor (International) and Service Leader (International) you will be expected to:
Lead the implementation and administration of the GloBE rules for New Zealand
Provide expert guidance and ensure the compliance of domestic and international customers with their obligations in relation to the initiative
Contribute to our responses to the international peer reviews and monitor our compliance with the international requirements
Develop compliance strategies to assure the integrity of the GloBE rules as applied to New Zealand operations of multinational enterprises
Work with the other compliance strategists to develop international compliance strategies to reduce the opportunity for base erosion and profit shifting.
To be successful in this position you will ideally possess the following capabilities:
Ideally an accountant with experience in the application of tax law
A strategic thinker with the ability to see the nig picture whilst having keen attention to detail
Someone who can operate effectively in a highly complex environment
Proven ability to interpret complex rules/legislation
Strong relationship skills
Proven stakeholder engagement management
Ability to work independently
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Superior written and oral communication skills
Excellent customer advisory and stakeholder management skills with a strong focus on compliance outcomes
Ability to quickly adapt to different challenges and competing demands within a high-performing environment.
