JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Material Control Clerk performs clerical administrative tasks that include receiving verifying tagging storing and issuing various maintenance supplies materials and equipment for the facilities stockroom. This position participates in the annual physical inventory drives to various vendors and locations to attain materials for the stockroom and distributes the materials to various crafts on campus.
ResponsibilitiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in the operations of the stockroom including receiving unpacking and dispersing of shipments.
- Verifies shipment content against purchase orders/requisitions and warehousing items.
- Places received items into appropriate bins/shelves.
- Participates in the filling of requisitions from various department/units in facilities and other departments on campus.
- Notifies supervisors and superintendent of any shortages/discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records.
- Ensure materials supplies and equipment are adequately stored and kept secure in the stockroom area.
- Conducts periodic stockroom inventories.Coordinates and participates in the year-end physical inventory process.
- Receives shipments for other departments; arranges for relocation.
- Performs administrative tasks such as receiving work orders performing data entry in Archibus and keeping accurate records of the inventory.
- Communicates with vendors verbally and in writing on matters relating to supplies.
- Serves as the lead of the stockroom in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:High School Diploma or GED.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in a warehouse operation. Must have a valid Drivers License.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of inventory control and warehousing procedures.
Knowledge of maintenance and construction materials supplies and equipment.
Ability to proficiently organize.
Ability to organize multi-task and prioritize.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.
