Job Description
Title: Agriculture Assistant
Location: Leamington Ontario Canada
The starting hourly wage for this role is $22/hr CAD
Role:
The Agriculture Assistant is responsible for supporting activities of the Heinz Seed breeding program located in Leamington Ontario including but not limited to seeding transplanting plot upkeep field sampling/data collection seed harvesting hybrid crossing and other seasonal and general duties in the Leamington winter greenhouse.
Responsibilities:
Perform greenhouse crop upkeep task including pruning clipping and tying up of plants.
Assist in tomato hybrid crossing in the greenhouse and field
Assist in seasonal operational tasks such as seeding transplanting weed control picking tomatoes for testing and seed data collection.
Assist in special projects as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma
Agriculture experience is an asset
Computer skills including a knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to analyze solve problems organize communicate effectively perform duties as requested and work as a team are required in this position.
Possess an extreme level of detail and accuracy
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time under different weather conditions.
Must have valid drivers license (full license)
