The Opportunity

Are you looking for a rewarding new role in the sunny top of the South We are seeking an experienced versatile engineer to join our hard-working Workshop team in Nelson. This is a hands-on mobile position with a broad scope work on a variety of vehicles and equipment both in our Workshop and out in the field at our Quarries and other sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment both on-site and at our various Quarry locations.
• Collaborate closely with our Quarry and Contracting teams to deliver reliable professional engineering support.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
• Build strong working relationships across departments.

About You:

• Trade qualified with proven engineering experience (preferably in automotive heavy machinery and/or quarry equipment)
• Strong competency in MIG and ARC welding processes with the ability to pass certification testing for MIG in all positions. - TIG welding ability advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working at heights or confined space
• Be familiar with technology specifically Outlook software and use of an iPad

• At least 4 years experience as a workshop engineer or similar including welding experience
• Current NZ Driving Licence Class 1 essential Classes 2-5 WTR & F (desirable but not essential as full training will be provided)
• Have an unwavering commitment towards living safely
• Be a reliable individual with a strong work ethic
• Excellent time management skills
