Description:
The Fishers Community Center is seeking a seasonal Assistant Camp Manager to play a key role in bringing summer camp experiences to life by supporting daily operations engaging programming and positive staff and camper interactions across multiple locations. This dynamic position works closely with the Camp Manager to create safe fun and well-organized camps while serving as a positive role model for staff and participants. The role includes traveling between camp sites to provide hands-on support coordinate supplies assist with events and field trips and help keep communication running smoothly. Ideal candidates are energetic adaptable and passionate about creating memorable experiences in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Camps operate Monday - Friday. The 2026 Summer Season runs Monday 6/1/2026 - Friday 7/31/2026.
Mandatory training includes:
- New Hire Orientation and First Aide/CPR Certification multiple dates will be offered between March and May.
- Camp Training 5/26/26 5/27/26 5/28/26 5/29/26 time/location TBD
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Camp Manager with daily camp operations including programming supervision and administrative tasks.
- Serve as a positive role model for staff and campers through professionalism enthusiasm and respect.
- Attend and support staff training meetings and weekly check-ins.
- Coordinate camp materials including site binders and camper t-shirt distribution.
- Communicate schedule updates and key information to staff and families.
- Collaborate with camp staff to ensure safe smooth and engaging daily activities.
- Travel between camp locations to provide on-site support and deliver supplies.
- Assist with setup and teardown of daily camp activities events and field trips.
- Support logistics for camp supplies field trips and special projects.
- Provide excellent customer service to campers families and staff.
- Assist with staff feedback evaluations and corrective actions as needed.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Have one (1) or more years of experience working with youth in a camp educational or recreational setting.
- The proven ability to provide excellent customer service to diverse groups of campers families and staff- both in person and through written or verbal communication.
- Possesses the willingness to learn and use Amilia and Smartsheet.
- Ability to adapt quickly stay organized and manage time effectively in a dynamic camp environment.
- Ability to lead and stay focused in a fast- paced high- energy setting with frequent interruptions and background noise.
- Positive friendly and professional demeanor with a passion for youth development.
- Must be able to be cleared to drive based on city insurance requirements including a valid drivers license and 3 years of experience as a licensed driver not including permit time. Must have access to transportation to travel between camp locations.
- Must have an Adult CPR/AED First Aid certifications or ability to obtain prior to the start of camp. Training will be provided.
