Your New Role:

Join our awesome Aboriginal Childrens Therapy Team in Dubbo NSW where we are all about making a difference! We offer fantastic free Allied Health Services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children aged 0-8 in the Dubbo area.

As an Aboriginal Community & Therapy Support Worker on our team you will be delivering care thats both culturally spot-on and centered around what our kids and families need. You will team up with other amazing healthcare professionals to provide rewarding all round support to our children. We are here to create a system of care that respects and reflects the wonderful cultural background and experiences of our community ensuring that everyone feels at home on their health journey. Through strong relationships cultural understanding and collaborative care the role helps to empower families and contribute to positive meaningful outcomes for children in the Dubbo community.

Selection Criteria

  • Aboriginality
  • Relevant qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care/ Education and / or Community Services or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal children and families in health community services or child related employment
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and current issues affecting the lives of Aboriginal people
  • Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated time management organisational and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills (verbal & written) including negotiation and advocacy skills and the ability to communicate with local Aboriginal families Local Health Education and Family Support Services
  • Demonstrated experience in the utilisation of Microsoft Office programs

Mandatory compliance requirements of the position:

  • A Certificate of Aboriginality (COA)
  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Working With Children Check
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • National Criminal Record Check
