Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Senior HR Project Manager on a 6-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 31.86 - 43.01 per hour

Summary:

This Senior HR Project Manager role sits within Corporate Services and is responsible for leading the delivery of HR transformation across People Services. The postholder will oversee a portfolio of complex high-impact corporate projects workforce change programmes and modernisation initiatives that strengthen organisational capability and improve service performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design governance and delivery of complex HR transformation and workforce change programmes.
  • Deliver agreed outcomes (cost quality efficiency and benefits realisation) from key corporate projects aligned to Council priorities.
  • Develop and manage robust project documentation including business cases project plans risk/issue logs dashboards benefits realisation plans post-implementation reviews and closure reports.
  • Act as a critical friend in reviewing business cases and supporting progression through governance structures.
  • Provide accurate progress reporting to senior stakeholders governance boards SLT Chief Executive and Committees.
  • Ensure statutory deadlines are met including publication of HR data.

Qualification:

  • Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification(s) or relevant industry experience

Essentials:

  • Substantial vocational and management experience in an HR Strategy or related professional role.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering large-scale complex and sensitive transformation projects.
  • Significant HR strategy expertise with demonstrable impact in similar roles.
  • Experience building strong working relationships with Trade Unions and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial and numerical data.
