Kforce has a client seeking a hybrid Senior Data Scientist to join their team in Atlanta GA. This person will focus on developing advanced optimization models and network design solutions to improve the companies supply chain efficiency inventory management and distribution strategies. This role combines data science operations research and machine learning to solve complex logistical challenges and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
* Design and implement optimization models for inventory allocation transportation routing and warehouse network planning
* Develop network modeling frameworks to evaluate distribution center locations capacity planning and cost-to-serve analysis
* Apply linear programming mixed-integer programming and heuristic algorithms to solve large-scale supply chain problems
* Analyze historical and real-time data to identify patterns and improve forecasting accuracy
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain Finance IT) to integrate optimization solutions into business processes
* Build simulation models to test scenarios and assess the impact of strategic decisions on service levels and cost
* Communicate insights and recommendations through clear visualizations and presentations for executive stakeholders
Required Skills : * BS/BA in Data Science Operations Research Industrial Engineering or related field; MS preferred * 5 years in data science or optimization roles preferably in supply chain or logistics * Strong proficiency in Python SQL and optimization libraries (e.g. Pyomo Gurobi CPLEX) * Expertise in network modeling linear/mixed-integer programming and simulation techniques * Familiarity with Snowflake and cloud-based data platforms * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities * Ability to translate complex models into actionable business strategies
