Kendrick Recruitment is currently recruiting for a luxury hotel based in Cape Town. Our client is seeking an experienced Indian Speciality Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef and deliver exceptional cuisine to guests.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and menu planning
Prepare and cook high-quality Indian cuisine according to hotel standards
Supervise and train junior kitchen staff ensuring proper techniques and consistency
Ensure kitchen hygiene health and safety standards are strictly maintained
Manage inventory stock levels and ordering of ingredients
Monitor food quality portion control and presentation
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dishes and specials
Assist in planning for events banquets and special functions
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef preferably specialising in Indian cuisine
Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu development
Knowledge of kitchen operations hygiene and safety regulations
Leadership and team management abilities
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Flexibility to work weekends nights and public holidays
