Senior Lecturer / Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Conducting (Multiple Positions) ()
The Academy of Music ( has rapidly emerged as one of the leading institutions in Hong Kong providing a rigorous and comprehensive music curriculum. Following HKBUs rich liberal arts tradition the Academy fosters creativity through performance composition technology research and pedagogy. With the new Jockey Club Campus of Creativity the Academy further expands its capacity to inspire and nurture the next generation of creative artists.
The Academy is seeking a distinguished music educator and outstanding conductor for the position of Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Conducting.
Responsibilities:
- Rehearse and lead the instrumental or choral ensembles;
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in conducting and related areas;
- Develop networks with regional and international partners for research performance and recruitment activities; and
- Collaborate across disciplines within the Academy and with colleagues across the University to further develop the Academys strengths in interdisciplinary research teaching and knowledge transfer.
Requirements:
- A doctoral degree in music or equivalent professional conducting experience; and
- Collegiate-level teaching and relevant professional experience.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of twoyears commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
