Job Summary
Eurofins Advantar Laboratories is seeking a Lab Assistant Intern to support microbiological testing in a pharmaceutical GMP environment. This internship offers hands-on experience in regulated laboratory operations including sterility testing environmental monitoring and microbial analysis. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Microbiology or Biology with a microbiology emphasis preferably in their junior or senior year.
- Assist with sample preparation and support testing such as Microbial Limits (USP <61> <62>) Sterility (USP <71>) and Endotoxin (USP <85>).
- Prepare and verify culture media and perform basic microbiological techniques (e.g. Gram staining).
- Support Environmental Monitoring in ISO-classified cleanrooms.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment under supervision (e.g. incubators autoclaves biosafety cabinets).
- Document activities in compliance with GMP/GLP and LIMS requirements.
- Follow SOPs and maintain a clean organized work area.
Qualifications :
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Microbiology or Biology with a microbiology emphasis.
- Preferably in junior or senior year of study.
- Basic understanding of aseptic technique culture handling and pharmacopoeial methods.
- Ability to work in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Additional Information :
Position is an internship targeting 15 - 25 hours per week from 3-5 days of work. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of San Diego CA are encouraged to apply.
The pay range of this role is $18/h - $22/h depending on related experience.
