Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager the Intern Marketing (Trade) position will gain experience in all areas of book marketing and receive exposure to the broader publishing teams. The Intern Marketing (Trade) will get a broad overview of the departments structure and the various roles within marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The intern will focus in these areas of book marketing:

  • Trade and Hardcover Marketing:
    • Assisting the Marketing Managers with campaigns (such as helping to come up with ad taglines and book giveaways
    • Attending Imprint meetings author calls and brainstorming sessions
    • Creation of social videos graphics and photography for Facebook Instagram and TikTok
    • Booking media placements
    • Influencer research and outreach
    • Assisting with the Digital Ad tracking system
    • Helping with ad invoices
    • Sending advance reading copies and swag packages to BooksellersLibrarians and influencers

Qualifications

Specific training or job experience required includes:

  • Completion of university or college education or possess equivalent/relevant work experience in the areas of marketing communications or publishing
  • Interest in marketing or publishing
  • Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in Canada
