The Opportunity
This is a high-level nursing leadership opportunity within a large high-acuity acute care hospital that serves as a regional destination for Womens and Childrens services. The Womens Services RN Director provides strategic and operational leadership across a comprehensive womens health continuum that includes antepartum labor and delivery postpartum and a Level III NICU.
This role is ideal for a seasoned Womens Services leader who thrives in a fast-paced high-volume environment and is comfortable managing complexity acuity and large teams while driving quality outcomes and operational performance.
Position Overview
Reporting to senior nursing leadership the Womens Services RN Director is accountable for 24/7 clinical operational and financial oversight of assigned womens services units. This leader partners closely with physicians nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient care regulatory compliance and staff engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic nursing leadership for Womens Services with full 24-hour accountability.
- Oversee clinical quality patient safety and evidence-based practice across all assigned units.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to meet the needs of patients and families.
- Drive operational efficiency while managing resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory accreditation and professional practice standards.
- Support and advance the organizations mission vision and values.
- Lead mentor and develop nursing leadership and frontline staff.
- Monitor key performance indicators including quality outcomes patient experience staffing and throughput.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of recent (within the last year) leadership experience as a Manager or Director in Womens Services within a large high-acuity hospital.
- Demonstrated experience supporting 3500 births annually in a complex obstetrical environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain BCLS certification.
- Strong communication leadership organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Specialty certification in Womens Services OB or related clinical area.
