Note

Must be a licensed attorney with at least 2 years of litigation experience and strong legal writing skills. Transportation trucking logistics or insurance defense experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description

Defend transportation trucking and logistics litigation matters
Handle catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death defense cases
Manage cases from early investigation through resolution and trial
Draft pleadings motions and discovery responses
Conduct legal research and prepare written legal analysis
Prepare fact witnesses and expert witnesses and assist with case strategy
Take and defend depositions
Appear at court hearings and case conferences
Assist with mediations and settlement related preparation
Support trial preparation and trial execution with the litigation team
Assist on related regulatory compliance risk management and employment issues connected to transportation matters

Qualifications

Active Virginia bar license or clear ability to become licensed in Virginia
2 plus years of litigation experience
Strong writing ability with motion practice and discovery experience
Experience taking or defending depositions or strong readiness to do so
Highly organized detail oriented and able to manage deadlines
Team player with strong communication skills
Transportation trucking logistics personal injury defense or insurance defense experience is a plus
Must be able to pass a background check
