General Definition of Work
The Assistant Principal under minimal supervision performs senior-level work with considerable decision-making discretionassistingthe principal in developing and implementing policies programs curriculum activities and budgets. The role involves promoting the educational development of students and the professional development of employee performs advanced and supervisory work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures under the direction of the principal.

Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state federal and local laws policies and procedures
- Support and uphold the mission vision and strategic priorities of the district
- Collaborate to support student success through a shared vision ofequitablelearning
- Align and develop organizational instructional and assessment strategies to strengthen teaching
- Foster collaboration among staff for high professional standards and continuous improvement
- Use diverse data sources to track student progress and guide instruction
- Superviseobserve and evaluate the performance of school staff as directed by the principalin a timely manneraccording to an annual observation/evaluation schedule
- Identifyeffective teaching and learning strategies with the ability to convey the impact of effectiveness to the change process
- Collaborate andassistwith the development of a master schedule and related duty assignments
- Assistin the preparation and management of the school budget allocations and schedules according to local state and federal policies and regulations
- Coordinate the development and implementation of a school discipline policy that is consistent with district board policy
- Complete local state or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Facilitate/participatein professional development workshops and leadership training
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
- Perform related work as assigned orrequired

Certificationand Experience
- Masters degree in educational administration or related area
- SC Principal Certificationor eligibility to obtainrequired
- Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience
- Equivalent combination of experience and education
Special Requirements
- Must have andmaintaina valid Drivers License or ability to provideowntransportation.
- May berequiredto travel to school district buildings and professional normal place of work is on the premises used by Rock Hill Schools. Rock Hill Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it mayreasonably require.

- Work requires the occasional exertion of up to ten pounds of force

- Must be on-call as a regular part of the job
