About the Role
A welcoming primary school in Greenford West London is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their SEN support team. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about working with children with additional needs and is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment.
The SEN TA will work with pupils with a variety of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD speech and language difficulties SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) and learning difficulties. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis in small groups or within the classroom depending on pupil requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN
Assist pupils in accessing learning and participating in lessons
Support the implementation of EHCPs IEPs and behaviour plans
Collaborate with teachers SENCOs and support staff to meet pupil needs
Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development
Promote positive behaviour and engagement using agreed strategies
Adapt resources and learning materials to suit individual learning styles
Support pupils during lessons transitions and unstructured times
Encourage independence confidence and self-esteem
Observe monitor and report on pupil progress
Ensure all safeguarding policies are followed and pupils feel safe
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Is patient empathetic and calm under pressure
Has a passion for supporting children with SEN
Is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour or complex needs
Works well both independently and as part of a team
Communicates clearly and effectively with staff pupils and parents
Is reliable proactive and committed to helping pupils succeed
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Understanding of common SEN needs and support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Not Essential)
SEN-related qualifications or training
Experience in specialist provisions or SEN units
Team Teach or behaviour management training
Background in education psychology care or youth work
