About the Role
A vibrant primary school in Harlesden North West London is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their SEN team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed academically socially and emotionally.
The SEN TA will work with children who require extra support due to a variety of needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD speech and language difficulties SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) and learning difficulties. Support will be delivered on a one-to-one basis in small intervention groups or alongside class teachers in the classroom.
The school is committed to inclusion positive behaviour management and fostering an environment where all children can thrive. You will be an integral part of the team helping to ensure that pupils feel confident safe and supported in every aspect of their school day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN to access the curriculum
Assist teachers in implementing EHCPs IEPs and behaviour strategies
Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to meet pupil needs
Support pupils social emotional and communication development
Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs
Support pupils during lessons transitions and break times
Encourage independence confidence and self-esteem
Observe and monitor pupil progress providing feedback to staff
Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and pupil welfare is prioritised

Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Understanding of common SEN conditions and support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Not Essential)
SEN-related qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach Autism Awareness)
Experience in specialist provisions or SEN units
Background in education psychology care or youth work
