About the Role
A supportive and inclusive primary school in Uxbridge West London is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their SEN team. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about helping children with additional needs to thrive academically socially and emotionally.
The SEN TA will work with pupils with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD speech and language difficulties SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) and learning difficulties. Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis in small intervention groups or alongside class teachers in the classroom depending on pupil needs.
The school emphasizes inclusive education early intervention and positive behaviour management and values the contribution of every staff member in supporting childrens growth and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN
Assist teachers in implementing EHCPs IEPs and behaviour management plans
Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to meet pupil needs
Support pupils social emotional and communication development
Promote positive behaviour using consistent school-approved strategies
Adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual pupil needs
Support pupils during lessons transitions and unstructured times
Encourage independence confidence and self-esteem
Observe and monitor pupil progress providing feedback to teaching staff
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and pupil wellbeing is prioritised

Confident supporting pupils with complex or challenging behaviours
Flexible and adaptable in a busy school environment
Strong communicator and effective team player
Reliable proactive and committed to pupil development
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Understanding of common SEN conditions and support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Not Essential)
SEN or education-related qualifications
Experience in specialist provisions or SEN units
Team Teach or behaviour management training
Background in education psychology care or youth work
