The Director of Inpatient Care administers directs and coordinates activities within the Medical/Surgical ICU and Swing Bed departments. The director is responsible for recommendation development and implementation of policies and procedures as well as maintaining documented survey readiness in all the direct report areas. The Director of Inpatient care will keep the Executive Staff informed of both progress and potential problems and is responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery in the department. Maintains operational aspects of Med/Surg-ICU and the Swing bed program in collaboration with other service areas throughout the facility. Responsible for meeting or exceeding quality and patient satisfaction measures and ensuring that the nursing and interdisciplinary services are coordinated to provide excellent care. Collaborates with the inpatient care medical director to coordinate the Service line. Participates in other workgroups as assigned to address patient quality and health improvement activities. Maintains skills and certifications to be prepared to step into patient care when necessary. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas. BSN required. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience: At least two years of previous experience working as a nurse in a similar nursing care environment. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Certificates License Registrations: BLS ACLS PALS
