DescriptionPosition Title: Graduate Assistant Human Resources
Supervisor: Director of Human Resources
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the University mission statement
Maintain confidentiality of information
Support the daily management of the HR office operations
Provide customer service to Cumberland University employees
Assist with onboarding and orientation procedures for new employees
Perform regular administrative functions including phone calls emails scheduling appointments distributing documents across campus
Assist with updating/maintaining the HR database
Compile/prepare reports and spreadsheets
Prepare and organize files
Participate in select projects related to employee relations training/development benefits and payroll/accounting
Successfully perform duties with limited supervision
Assist with other projects as determined by the Office of Human Resources

Strong interpersonal communication skills
Record keeping and reporting skills
Excellent Organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word PowerPoint Excel)
Basic data analysis skills preferred
High level of discretion
Strong attention to detail and strong work ethic
Basic data analysis skills preferred
Qualifications
Must maintain a 3.0 or above overall GPA
Must be enrolled in a graduate program at Cumberland University
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Must possess a high level of discretion
Anticipated Start Date
Summer or Fall 2026
Compensation
Full tuition waiver (no stipend housing books or fees)
