Position Purpose:The History Department at Cumberland University is seeking to develop an applicant pool for adjunct faculty to teach survey courses in U.S. and World History. Courses may be taught on campus and/or at dual enrollment sites in area high schools. These courses are options for the fulfillment of the History component of Cumberland Universitys General Education Core and in the History major. These survey courses should provide students with a rigorous introduction to major historical themes as well as to college-level writing thinking and analysis.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities:
Experience:Evidence of rigorous creative and effective teaching at the collegiate level.
Education:Completed Masters degree in United States History. 18 graduate hours in US History completed as part of a Masters degree in related field may be accepted.
Application Requirements:Available for Fall and Spring semesters on site at the main campus in Lebanon TN and potentially at high school site(s) in Wilson County TN for dual enrollment courses. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
