Job Summary
Job Title: Certified OR Technician / Surgical Technologist (CST) Travel
Specialty: Surgical Services Operating Room
Location: Syracuse New York
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule & Shift
Shift Type: Mid / Evening Shift
Schedule: 5 8-hour shifts
Shift Hours: 1:00 PM 9:00 PM
Total Hours: 40 hours/week
Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
Position Overview
A hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support a busy Adult Operating Room. The ideal candidate will have strong scrub experience and be comfortable working in a high-acuity trauma environment.
Responsibilities
Scrub and assist surgeons during operative procedures
Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields
Anticipate surgeon needs and manage surgical instruments and supplies
Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards
Collaborate with surgeons nurses and anesthesia teams
Support efficient OR workflow in a fast-paced environment
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience (within the last 4 years)
Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center or equivalent facility
Strong scrub experience required
Experience across multiple specialties including:
Trauma
Orthopedics
General Surgery
ENT
Vascular
GYN
Bariatric / GU (preferred)
Ability to work independently with minimal orientation
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education & Certification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program
Active CST certification required
No history of license or certification suspension or investigation
