We have an opening on our Safety & Security Team for a Reserve Security Guard for swing and overnight shifts. This Reserve Status position is non-benefited and on average may work sixteen hours (16) per week. This position schedule would be one (1) day per week preferably on Sundays from 9:00am-5:00pm and will require on-call accessibility for call-ins and busier attendance days. Perks include a complimentaryDesert Museummembership and guest passes. Staff are also eligible for discounts at our gift shops on ASDMs Public Programs & Trips and for Adult Art & Photography Classes.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. A High School diploma and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Law enforcement or security experience is highly desirable.

Summary
Individuals in this position provide outstanding guest service both external and internal. Observe report safeguard and secure the Museums property staff and visitors during assigned shift by performing the following duties. This position is flexible and accommodates ever-changing business needs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written oral diagram or schedule form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should have the ability to learn or the knowledge of Microsoft Outlook to participate in on-line training courses and e-mail exchange; E-time payroll timekeeping software and Word or WordPerfect word processing software for preparation of notes/memos.
