Duties & Responsibilities
The Executive General Manager will be responsible for leading a high-performing team. This role requires strategic vision operational excellence financial acumen and strong leadership capabilities to drive sustainable growth and competitive market positioning.
Key Performance Areas:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a business strategy aligned with being the market leader and our customers needs.
- Drive innovation and transformation in FMCG Operations and Retail and Wholesale sales. Identify and capitalise on expansion opportunities including new business opportunities and market penetration.
- Human Capital Management: Build and lead a high-performing team.
- Lead the management team and talent to enhance leadership capabilities and workforce efficiency.
- Ensure organisational health and employee growth promoting diversity inclusion and employee engagement.
- Oversee the division to optimize productivity while maintaining our strong corporate culture.
- General Management: Ensure seamless day-to-day operations across sales marketing and business development.
- Strengthen operational efficiency through excellent management practices.
- Implement effective risk management strategies and compliance.
- Align business objectives with sustainability and community initiatives.
- Financial Budgeting & Management: Lead the formulation and execution of divisional budgets ensuring profitability and cost optimisation.
- Drive member business plans strategies and turnover for sustainable growth.
- Maintain strong relationships with members and the financial/accounts team to enhance fiscal health.
- Implement robust financial controls performance metrics and accountability measures.
- Customer & Market Relationships: Establish customer-centric business relationships to enhance brand loyalty market share and build better businesses.
- Leverage data analytics to understand the competition and market trends.
- Build strong partnerships with members suppliers and stakeholders.
- Oversee pricing strategies and promotional initiatives to enhance competitiveness.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Are you currently an Executive General Manager WITHIN the FMCG Foods & Groceries or the Wholesale Retail Foods & Groceries industry
- Do you have 8 to 10 YEARS (or more) experience as a Retail Operations Manager (coming from a Food Retail; Wholesale Groceries background)
- Do you have a Degree in Business or Finance or Economics
- Do you have 5 to 7 years in Leadership Roles
- Leadership Exposure: Proven track record in leading operations and sales with a significant turnover.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to anticipate market shifts and adapt quickly.
- Decisive Leader: Confident in making complex business decisions under pressure.
- Financially Astute: Good understanding of financial strategies.
